ABS-CBN brings honor to the country by bagging 1 bronze world medal and 4 finalist certificates at the prestigious 2012 New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards for its news and current affairs programs and specials, chosen among all entries coming from 40 countries worldwide.ABS-CBN won the bronze world medal for the “Krusada” episode “Laya (Freedom)” in the Social Issues/Current Events category.

* Rated K’s “Kwento ng Buhay Ko (This is my Life)” in Social Issues/Current Events category;
* The broadcast of “TV Patrol” during the onslaught of tropical storm Juaning on July 26, 2011 in the Best Newscast category;
* ABS-CBN’s documentary “EDSA 25: Sulyap sa Kasaysayan (A Glimpse of History)” in the History & Society category;
* “Storyline,” which tells the stories of the famous and the unknown through their own voices, in the Biography/Profiles category.
Meanwhile, the pan-Asian hit TV series “The Kitchen Musical” starring ABS-CBN stars Karylle and Christian Bautista won a gold world medal for best writing and a bronze world medal for best performance for the entire cast (ensemble).
