PNOY'S SATISFACTION RATING FALLS BY 12 PERCENTAGE POINTS!
FILIPINOS CONTINUE to rate President Benigno S. C. Aquino III’s performance as "very good" but his net score has fallen from a personal record high hit earlier this year, the Social Weather Stations (SWS) said in a new report.
Mr. Aquino’s December net satisfaction rating of +55 (72% satisfied minus the 17% dissatisfied) was down 12 points from the +67 (77% satisfied, 10% dissatisfied) recorded in August, results of a Dec. 8-11 poll made exclusive to BusinessWorld showed.
The result brought the president’s annual average to a "very good" +53, identical to his 2011 score and nine points below 2010’s +62 (also "very good") -- the highest so far in his three years in office.

DEPED TO IMPLEMENT NEW GRADING SYSTEM USING LETTERS!
Legions of grade-conscious students and parents may be surprised when the first report cards under the new K+12 education program come out. Instead of numerical values, grades will be letters under a system that may not at first appear logical.
According to DepEd Assistant Secretary Toni Umali, the new grading system this year will apply only to grades one and seven, the two grades most affected by K+12 policies.

CJ CORONA DENIES HAVING 82 DOLLAR ACCOUNTS! CLAIMS TRANSACTIONS WERE TIME DEPOSITS!
MANILA, Philippines - Chief Justice Renato Corona on Tuesday denied he has 82 dollar accounts with at least $10 million as alleged by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales last week.
In the second part of his lengthy opening statement, Corona said, “wala ako kilala na may 82 bank accounts. Ewan ko kay Ombudsman, baka sya meron.”
Corona also said he had a reason in pushing his defense team to present Carpio-Morales as a witness, even though some experts say it was a wrong move and damaging to his case.

CHINA TO IMPOSE ECONOMIC SANCTIONS ON PHL?!
BEIJING – China should impose “sanctions” against the Philippines after it offered to allow more US troops on its soil, state media said Sunday, amid growing tensions over disputed waters in the South China Sea.
Manila said Friday it planned to hold more joint exercises and to let more US troops rotate through the Southeast Asian country — an offer welcomed by the United States as it seeks to expand its military power in Asia.

PNOY WANTS STUDENTS TO USE PC TABLETS IN SCHOOLS!
President Benigno Aquino III on Tuesday said that wants Filipino students to be armed with tablet computers instead of books soon.
In his speech during the launching of K+12 Basic Education program in MalacaƱang, Aquino said they are just waiting for the price of tablet computers to go down before the government procures them.
“Hinahabol po natin na yung ating mga reading materials ay magiging tablet-based,” he said.
With this, correction of the errors in the reading materials would be easier instead of recalling the whole batch of books.
“Kung saka-sakaling may nahanap na error diyan, uutusan lang po nung kanyang server, papalitan po yung impormasyon diyan, hidi na po natin ire-recall yung mga librong sankaterba. At ginawan pa ng paraan, na naka-locked in sa system para wala hong magnanakaw nito,” he said.

Manila
(Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN) - Thousands of people lined up for hours
on Thursday evening to be the first in the Philippines to get their
hands on the new Apple iPhone 4S.
But the first Filipino to officially own the new device is none other than Globe Telecom subscriber President Benigno Aquino III.
Globe president Ernest Cu explained that the device was not a gift intended to get Malacanang's goodwill. He said President Aquino had been a long-time Globe subscriber and the new iPhone was given to him under the company's loyalty program.

PNOY & VALERIE CRITICIZED ONLINE!
MANILA, Philippines - Host-actress Valerie Concepcion is drawing flak for sharing that she partied with President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III on Sunday night.

Filipino netizens lambasted Concepcion for her "insensitive" messages, while the country is mourning the hundreds of people killed by tropical storm “Sendong” (international name: Washi).
