JOHN GOKONGWEI ZOOMS TO THE TOP! ZOBEL DE AYALA FALLS FURTHER IN THE TOP 40 RICHEST!

Henry Sy of Mall titan SM Group remains to be the country's richest man alive with stakes in Banking and finance (BDO and China Bank) and Property Development (SM Prime, SMIC, SMDC).  He is followed a mile away by Lucio Tan whose stakes include Banking (PNB, Allied Bank), Airline (PAL), Tobacco (Fortune Tobacco) , Hard drinks ( Asia Bwerey, Tanduay Holdings), Property Development (Enton Properties)and Academe (University of the East). 


Catching the third spot is the ever controversial Digitel owner John Gokongwei which zoomed to the top beating Telecom rival Ayala Group's Jaime Zobel de Ayala (owns Globe Telecom). Gokongwei's business include Telecom (Digitel), Airline (Cebu Pacific Air), Food and Drinks (Universal Robina), Property Development (Robinsons Land), Power (JG Summit Petrochemical) and Banking (Robinsons Bank).
